This book got my attention because of it’s cover, I bought it because of the story and loved it because of the plot.

I’m not sure what makes this book that amazing. If it’s the way Mafi writes, the fact that she crossed out words or even whole sentences or just the story itself.

This beautiful, amazing, wonderful, stunning, dystopian world catches you from the first page and lets you hold your breath till the last word is read.

I loved every single word on each page and couldn’t put this book down.

Characters

Juliette is such a strong character. She got my sympathy from the first page. The atmosphere in her “cell” (at the very beginning of the story) is so bleak, dark and oppressive, I wouldn’t even survive one day. She hasn’t touched anybody for such a long time and if she does, she might kill them. Juliette has never been hugged by her mom and never had moral support by her dad. She didn’t even looked at her own face for years. With Adam she is kind of revived. She gets back her self-confidence.

Adam, well… he is kind of stronger than Juliette but sort of he is not. He knows more about the world and humanity than Juliette does and is accordingly to that more open and self-confident. He’s perfectly hiding what he thinks. He is good for Juliette and Juliette is good for him. They complete each other perfectly.

Then there is Warner. I didn’t like him. He is… special. He wants Juliette’s power for his plans and is in love with her, in a crazy way. I just can’t help it, I hated him and somehow I liked him… yeah, I know that sounds strange.

Conclusion – 5 stars
