Yep, I’m very late to posting this week’s WoW. 20 minutes before midnight (Germany) to be exact. But there is a reason! A simple reason actually, I’ve been super busy these past two weeks and had to step back from blogging a little. Things won’t get calmer within the next few weeks either, but hopefully I now got the hang of squeezing some Blog time in. Anyways, let’s get to the actual post!
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine. It spotlights highly anticipated, upcoming releases.
The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron will be published on September 13th 2016. (Three months. How is it almost September already?)
Goodreads blurb: What isn’t written, isn’t remembered. Even your crimes.
Nadia lives in the city of Canaan, where life is safe and structured, hemmed in by white stone walls and no memory of what came before. But every twelve years the city descends into the bloody chaos of the Forgetting, a day of no remorse, when each person’s memories – of parents, children, love, life, and self – are lost. Unless they have been written.
In Canaan, your book is your truth and your identity, and Nadia knows exactly who hasn’t written the truth. Because Nadia is the only person in Canaan who has never forgotten.
But when Nadia begins to use her memories to solve the mysteries of Canaan, she discovers truths about herself and Gray, the handsome glassblower, that will change her world forever. As the anarchy of the Forgetting approaches, Nadia and Gray must stop an unseen enemy that threatens both their city and their own existence – before the people can forget the truth. And before Gray can forget her.
This. Sounds. Absolutely. Fantastic! Having to rely on what you wrote down, because you lose your memory every 12 years? I haven’t heard of a book like this before and I am beyond intrigued!
Have you heard of this book? Tell me which book(s) you are waiting on!
I only discovered this book a few days ago but it’s already gone onto my to-read list. It sounds amazing and the cover is definitely eye-catching. Great pick for this week! 😀

Yay! And the cover is also very beautiful. I’m really curious as to who takes the chance to lie in this book since nobody can remember. 😀
