Update: The book(s) that broke my reading slump

You may or may not know this, but I’ve been in a bad reading slump for months and it seems like the reason was picking up books with chapters – so, novels – when I needed to read poems. Short, sweet, lyrical texts. Pure magic wrapped in words, visualized by ink on paper. I’m not completely sure if the reading slump is gone for good or just took a break, but as of right now it seems to be gone.

Here’s the two books that pulled me out of the reading slump!

All The Words Left Unsaid: From My Heart To Yours by Ryan Drake

a1Goodreads blurb:

[…] A poetry book to describe the times of hurting, the times of searching, the times of finding and the times of loving another human being – in all their beauty. Scars, flaws and all.

Short review / my thoughts right after finishing the book: Lovely book with heartfelt poems to read through when you’re feeling down or you need an escape from the world. I realized a few things while reading these words. Open your heart and you will too. Highly recommend! 4 / 5 stars

Some favorites:

The Princess Saves Herself In This One by Amanda Lovelace

Explores life & all of its love, loss, grief, healing, empowerment, & inspirations.

My thoughts right after finishing the book: In tears. So beautiful. 5 / 5 stars

Note: There really wasn’t more to say.

Have you read one or even both of these? What did you think about them/the excerpts above?

If you have any recommendations based on these two, I’d love to hear!
